The 2022 FIFA World Cup™ McDonald’s global sponsorship was designed to underscore McDonald’s ongoing aspiration to best represent the diverse communities in which it operates; this includes celebrating the unique ways that Latinos embrace fútbol, ensuring they feel seen, supported and empowered.
The team leveraged the Partido Dorado powered by McDonald’s, a star-studded fútbol match that brought together soccer legends from the U.S. and Mexico national teams, musicians, actors, gamers and influencers for a good cause, supporting LA-based youth charities. Top FIFA gamer, Edwin Castro, as well as musicians Mau y Ricky, J Quiles and Piso 21 took to social media to announce their participation in McDonald’s Partido Dorado, as well as document their game day experience. Additionally, a lineup of earned and paid influencers, and life-long soccer fans, including Alejandro (5.2M), Santea (3M) and Gero (753.9K), helped rally an online fanbase for match.
